Research and Preparation
Before you visit our exotic bird store, we recommend browsing through our extensive collection of articles and guides. This is the ideal place to start if you’re looking to narrow down your options and choose the bird that best suits your lifestyle and family environment. Our website is designed to help you make informed decisions, ensuring that your new bird is a perfect fit for your home.
Book an Appointment
Once you’ve done your research and are ready to take the next step, contact our exotic bird store to schedule an appointment. You can reach us via phone or email to set up a date and time to meet your chosen bird(s). During your visit, our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about bird care, nutrition, and compatibility with your household.
Deposit and Reservation
To ensure that your chosen bird is held for you, we require a minimum 50% deposit. This deposit is fully refundable if, after meeting the bird, you decide it is not the right fit for you. However, please note that if you place a deposit before meeting the bird, your appointment must be scheduled within a week to avoid forfeiture of the reservation.
Weaned vs. Unweaned Birds
If you’re meeting a weaned bird and are ready to welcome it into your home, we will provide a comprehensive care sheet and answer any remaining questions you have during your appointment. If your home isn’t quite ready, you can schedule a pick-up within the following week. For unweaned birds, you’ll need to wait until they are fully weaned before taking them home.
Preparing for Your Bird’s Arrival
Once your bird is weaned and ready, our exotic bird store will send you an email with all the necessary details, including:
A link to our care sheet in PDF format.
A link to schedule your care sheet/bird pick-up appointment.
A list of recommended food, toys, and other essentials.
Make sure you review the care sheet, prepare your home, and gather any supplies before booking your pick-up appointment. Don’t forget to bring a carrier for your new bird, or let us know if you need a travel box.
Health Guarantee
At our exotic bird store, we offer a seven-day health guarantee on all our handfed birds. During your purchase, we’ll go over a mandatory educational care sheet to ensure you’re fully prepared for your new pet. We strongly advise that you take your bird to an avian vet within 72 hours of purchase for a thorough examination. Should any health issues arise, contact us immediately with a written report to ensure your health guarantee remains valid.
Please note that the health guarantee is void if there are other birds in your home that were not purchased from our exotic bird store or if the bird leaves the store without being clipped.
Ongoing Support
We understand that bringing home a new bird is a significant commitment, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. While our handfed birds are generally tame, they may need time to adjust to their new environment. The more you interact with your new pet, the stronger your bond will become. Beyond the initial seven-day period, any further support or warranty is at our discretion.
